Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
What sells newspapers and gets clicks online? Bad news and gossip. What gets ratings for TV drama? Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll kind of stuff.
The Apostle Paul calls us to a better way. He tells us to focus on the positive. We're not to be preoccupied with negativity.
Paul tells us for example to focus on what is true. AI doesn't focus on the truth, but on what gets clicks. So if it doesn't know something it lies and makes out it does.
Many people are seduced by AI (which admittedly isn't all bad). We as God's people however are to be enraptured by his word, which is everything Paul describes here. Let's focus on what's best, not just on what might be okay in some circumstances.
'Sovereign Lord, may your Word to us be our preoccupation. We thank you that he became flesh to reconcile us to you, and for the Scriptures that testify of him. In his name, amen'.
