Yet sadly, conflict such as Judah was experiencing remains a perennial feature of life on earth to this day. So there's something for us to learn from this verse. When we consider our weakness, and our enemy's strength, we naturally get scared and discouraged. The adversary of our souls is prowling around looking for whom he might devour, like a lion on the hunt. If the battle depended on us, we'd be hopeless. Thankfully, even in the spiritual realm, the battle isn't ours ultimately. Even in the natural realm, God is sovereign and will work things out for good and for His glory. So we can take encouragement from that fact. A

  and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelation 7:10 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/rev.7.10.ESV What are the saved going to say once we're saved forevermore? That we did pretty good? That God ought to be pleased with us? Not at all! Our testimony has always been that salvation is of the Lord. We have no part to play in our own salvation except to be saved. Salvation is of God. Yet He doesn't brush our sins under the carpet and pretend like they don't matter. He puts our sins on His Son, the sacrificial Lamb of God. We need to behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. By His death on our behalf, we can be forgiven. By His resurrection we can live forevermore. 'Lord our God, how we praise You for our salvation. Thank You for the Lamb, and please help us to trust in Him, in His name, amen'
