Wait
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
Psalms 27:14 (NIV)
Waiting isn't easy to do. Waiting for the bus is the classic example. You wait for one for ages and then two come at once.
We might naturally be impatient, but it takes real strength to be patient. That's what the psalmist calls us to. But he's not telling us to be stoical.
We don't have to grit our teeth whilst waiting. We can be encouraged, we can take heart that the Lord won't abandon us.
God doesn't work to our timescale. He fulfils His promises, but in His time rather than ours. We need to wait upon Him to come through for us.
'Heavenly Father, please help us to be strong, encouraged, and patient in waiting for You to come through for us. In the name of Jesus, amen'
