Grace

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

Romans 3:23-24 (NLT)

These are some of the most important words in the most important book in the world. We sometimes might sum up the Bible as good news. If we don't realise our need of good news though, we won't appreciate it.

We need good news because we're sinners, we fall short of God's glory. Thankfully, that's not the end of the story. The good news is that God is gracious: He gives us the free gift of salvation.

We can't justify ourselves. We can't make ourselves acceptable in God's sight. The only way we can be justified in through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus bore the penalty for our sins. God is just. There has to be a penalty paid for our sins, but thankfully Christ did it.

'Lord, have mercy upon us for our sinfulness, and please save us through Christ Jesus's sacrifice on our behalf. In whose name we pray, amen'
