Brave
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 ESVhttps://bible.com/bible/59/deu.31.6.ESV
I love how Moses prophetically pre-empted God's encouragement to his successor Joshua after his death. God wants His people to be strong and courageous. We might be naturally weak and timid, yet in God we can become strong and brave.
There's no need for God's people to be afraid or to dread our enemies. If God is for us, who can be against us? Unlike with Joshua, our battle isn't against flesh and blood, but against satan and his forces.
God doesn't just tell us to do stuff for Him. He goes with us to help us. Jesus sent His followers to make Him know. Not only so, but He promised to be with us always, to the end of the age.
We're not going to be abandoned halfway to heaven. God's not going to give up on us. If our salvation depended in any part on us, we'd be hopeless. Thankfully, it's about God and His faithfulness; as if we could ever earn it anyway!
'Lord our God, thank You that just as You were with Moses and Joshua, so You shall be with us, both now and forevermore. In Christ's name, amen'
