Now Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep the whole commandment that I command you today.

The moral of the verse is that we can't cherry pick what we obey from God. 'Love God and love others' might sound nice. When that means we have to forsake things like homosexuality, abortion and transgenderism, some of the Shibboleths of the West in the 21st Century, it might seem harder.
God defines what love is, not the meaningless slogan 'love is love'. Love isn't whatever we want it to be. 1 Corinthians 13 is a great summary of what godly love looks like.
We might have our pet sins. Maybe it's greed, covetousness, rage or lust. There's no room for such things in God's Kingdom: we need to uproot them and throw them away.
We mustn't allow ourselves to be beset by habitual sins. We need to develop good habits of loving God and others. By the Holy Spirit and Christ's intercession we can live lives that are pleasing to God.
'Sovereign God, forbid that we should cherrypick Your law. May we obey You wholeheartedly, in Christ's name we pray, amen'
