And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
Luke 3:11 ESV

What does the Kingdom of God look like? Does it look like greedily obese people with wardrobes full of coats? Not at all!

God's Kingdom isn't necessarily made up of healthy, wealthy and happy people. Yet there shouldn't be anyone in need in the Kingdom of heaven. Everyone should have enough.

Subjects of heaven's Kingdom should share what they have with those in need. So there should be no needy people amongst us. We should look out for one another.

So it was in the early Church. Rich Christians would even sell some of their stuff so that they could look after poor Christians. There were no needy Christians in the early Church; there shouldn't be nowadays either.

'Heavenly Father, help us to be generous with what we have. We pray that You would provide for Your people, and help us to contribute to their provision. In Jesus' name, amen'
