Dreams
And he fell asleep and dreamed a second time. And behold, seven ears of grain, plump and good, were growing on one stalk.

It seems that if we dream similar things more than once, God is underlining the importance of what He's trying to communicate. Joseph for example dreamed a couple of times that his family would bow to him. They ended up doing so when he miraculously became prime minister of Egypt.
God can speak even to the pagan ruler of the world's superpower in dreams. Pharoah had a couple of dreams one night with the same meaning. Whether it was cows or crops, there was going to be seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine.
Understandably, Pharoah was disturbed. These dreams were nightmares. How was Egypt and the world going to get through the famine?
Thankfully, God gave Joseph the wisdom to tell Pharoah to store up crops in the years of plenty for the years of famine. Not only so, but Pharoah entrusted him to implement the plan. Joseph as prime minister of Egypt passed with flying colours.
'Sovereign God, please help us to be attuned to what You would have to say to us, however You would say it. In Christ's name we pray, amen'
