Presence
One of the young men answered, "Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a man of valour, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a man of good presence, and the Lord is with him."
1 Samuel 16:18 ESV

There was a man talking about his son who'd got into Oxford University, had a lovely girlfriend, and was looking forward to settling down for a prosperous life. 'The icing on the cake is that he's a Christian'. This sounds a bit like the young man's description of David.
As the preacher said in reply to the man however, being a Christian isn't the icing on the cake- it is the cake. Of course, it's great to be musical etc. Most important however is that the Lord is with us.
It's good to be a brave warrior who speaks well and looks good. If the Lord isn't with that person however, it's all in vain. God might be omnipresent, but He's only with those who seek after Him- we need to draw near to Him, and He will draw experientially near to us.
Ultimately, the fact that the Lord was with David was the secret of His success. All the other good things about him were byproducts. Musicality, bravery, eloquence and handsomeness are all gifts of God.
'Lord God, whether we're as exemplary as David or not, may it be said of us that You are with us, by Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, amen'
