Summary of the Bible: 15. Ezra- Resolution

 Ezra 7:10 ESV

For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.

We might read this and think that Ezra was a legalistic, 'holier than thou' kind of person. Yet the Law of the Lord is perfect and good. In summary it is to love God and to love others.

It's not enough to study the Law of the Lord in theory. We need to put it into practice. We need to actively do it.

The Law of God isn't some individualistic thing. It's not just JAM- Jesus And Me. It's JOY- Jesus, Others, You.

The world would want to silence us about our faith. The world doesn't want to be convicted in regard to sin, righteousness and judgement. Yet the Holy Spirit wants to work through us living out his word to make him known.

'Lord, may we follow Ezra's example, and ultimately that of our Saviour Jesus, to live out your word in our lives. In his name, amen'.
