Warrior
But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior, therefore my persecutors will stumble, they won't overcome me. They'll be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonour will never been forgotten.
Jeremiah 20:11 ESV
How was it that Jeremiah prevailed as God's mouthpiece to a hostile nation? This verse was the secret of his success. The LORD was with him as a dread warrior.
Jeremiah's enemies wanted his 'guts for garters'. Yet God was his celestial bodyguard. We're invincible until Christ returns or calls us home.
Jeremiah was confident he would prevail over his persecutors. He wasn't self confident. He was God confident.
If we don't repent of persecution, or whatever else offends the Holy One, we face eternal dishonour. Our shame would never be forgotten. We must renounce our evil ways.
'LORD our God, we're grateful for Your protection. Please vindicate us insofar as we seek to honour You. For Your glory we pray, amen'.
