Love
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 (NLT)
Peter isn't just telling people to be loving to earn God's acceptance. He's telling us to love because it is the right thing to do. Sin is destructive; love is restorative.
Love is good not as a means to an end, but as the meaning of life. Love- of God and of one another- is the purpose of our existence. God doesn't just tell us to love, He demonstrates His love.
God is love. We love because He first loved us. This is a trustworthy saying and worthy of wholehearted acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, out of love.
We can cause a lot of damage by our sins. Love can heal the wounds that our sins cause. This verse is key, not just for a marriage relationship, but for any relationship.
'Loving heavenly Abba, please help us to love others as You love us. For the honour of Your name, amen'.
