Dream
Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat? declares the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:28 ESV
God isn't against dreams. Even in His word, we read that He sometimes uses dreams to communicate with people. Usually it's unbelievers who God speaks to in dreams.
Dreams aren't necessarily of God. The devil can seek to tempt us in our dreams. God's word is a more reliable source of truth.
Satan can even twist Scriptures against their intended meaning. We need the Holy Spirit to help us to interpret His word. Otherwise we could get the wrong end of the stick.
The LORD likens dreams to straw; and His word to wheat. Straw might suffice for spiritual donkeys. Yet if we want to feed on the finest of wheat as it were, we need to be in the Word of God.
'LORD, please speak to us and help us to recognise that Your primary means of communication is Your word. In the name of Christ Jesus we pray, amen'.
