Trust
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5
As a child, did you ever think you knew better than your parents? I'm sure at some time we all did. And I'm sure there's been times as employees we've thought we had better ideas how to do something than our employers. Most times we'll probably have been wrong.
But with God, he always knows best. With our understanding we might think we know what's good for us, but God knows what's best for us. If we lean on our own understanding we're bound to be disappointed because we are finite beings who cannot control our circumstances.
God on the other hand is trustworthy. Not only is he able to make our paths straight, but he is willing to. He is worthy of all our trust, because he's mighty and he cares for us.
We are to put all our trust in the Lord. As James says, the double minded man is unstable in all his ways and cannot expect to receive anything from God. We are to put heart and soul into our trust of the Lord.
"Almighty Lord, I put all my trust in you, because you care for me. Forgive me for times I've leaned on my own understanding, and lead me on the straight and narrow path to glory. In Jesus' name, amen"
