Demolish
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV)
The devil is always trying to plant arguments and pretensions in our minds. Sometimes he uses our thoughts. At other times, he might use people.
Instead of passively listening to the devil's arguments and pretensions, we should question, challenge and ultimately demolish them. I think one of the devil's biggest tactics nowadays is distraction. The most important think is to know God, not to check our notifications.
The knowledge of God isn't necessarily having a PhD in theology. It's about having a relationship with Him as our heavenly Father. This is possible through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His Son.
We need to take captive thoughts to make sure they're honouring to Christ. If they're not, we should dismiss them. We need to fight against wrong thoughts instead of mindlessly going along with them.
'Loving heavenly Father, please help us to destroy wrong thoughts and to honour Your Son, our Saviour, in whose name we pray, amen'
