Omnipresence
even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
Psalms 139:10 (NIV)
This psalm is the classic 'go to' text for God's omnipresence: the fact that He's everywhere. Yet it's not just a dry systematic theology. It's poetry, waxing lyrical about how wonderful it is that the Lord is everywhere.
It doesn't matter where we are, God will guide His people. We could be in a palace or in a gutter, but God will be there with us. I'm reminded of the rich man and Lazarus.
The rich man lived in luxury. Yet he ended up in hell. Lazarus the beggar on the other hand ended up at Abraham's side in glory.
If God is for us, who can be against us? We could have dogs licking our sores like Lazarus. Yet we could have a glorious destiny to look forward to.
'Heavenly Father, please guide us, please hold us fast and bring us safely home to glory. For the honour of Your name we pray, amen'
