Judgementalism

 ‭Matthew‬ ‭7:1‭-‬2‬ ‭ESV‬
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

People take verse one out of context, but in the very next verses Jesus calls us to judge rightly. People judge people for perceived judgementalism, but their own judgement of those perceived judgemental people is hypocritical.

We all judge, and we will all be judged. Even if we were to get away with murder in this life, we would have to give an account of ourselves in the next. We will all appear before the judgement seat of Christ.

If we're merciful, God will be merciful to us. In response to God's mercy to us, we should be merciful. If we're judgemental, we can expect God to judge us.

We all deserve God's condemnation for our sinful rebellion against Him. Thankfully He delights to show mercy to those who cry out to Him for it. The right response to His mercy, is mercy to others.

'Judge of all the earth, please justify us through faith in Jesus. Help us be merciful rather than judgemental, in Christ's name, amen'
