Young

 I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one. 1 John 2:14 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/1jn.2.14.ESV

   As fathers, we can be tempted to assume that our children are totally reliant on us, especially when they're younger. I like how John gives us some divine perspective. Father God is from the beginning.  

  Young men are often at the coal face of the faith, sharing the gospel, contending for the faith, and standing up against the evil one. Their youthful zeal is to be harnessed by the church for mutual upbringing. They are to support those who are weaker than them.  

  The word of God lives in young people who trust in Him. Therein lies their strength, that they know and do the will of God. We are to hide God's word in our hearts, that we might not sin against Him.   

 Young people, impressionable though they are, have overcome the evil one if they trust in Christ. Our confidence isn't in ourselves. Our hope is in the Lord.  

  'Heavenly Father, thank You that whether we're young or old, we have the victory in You. Please help us to live wholeheartedly for You, in Christ's name, amen'

Power

 But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.Exodus 9:16 ESVhttps://bible.com/bible/59/exo.9.16.ESV  Secular historians point to the lack of extra-biblical evidence of Hebrew slavery in Egypt and ensuing exodus. But here in this verse, God describes how this anonymous Pharoah has been immortalised in the annals of the Hebrews, so that God is proclaimed in all the earth. The mighty men of the world might think they can stand against God and win, but resistance is futile!  The more stubborn Pharoah was, the more the Lord was able to display His power. Helper

  Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. Psalm 54:4 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/psa.54.4.ESV Being a helper is a humble role. Humanly speaking, we want to be the main act, not the side show. Yet, even though God is the director of life, He isn't afraid to step on stage to help us out. We might assume that the helper is subordinate to the helped. After all, if someone is deemed worthy of help, they must be important, right? Jesus came not to be served but to serve however. To be helped doesn't require us to do anything. To help is greater than to be helped. Better to actively contribute to someone rather than to simply passively benefit from someone's assistance.
