Strong
And Judah said to Simeon his brother, “Come up with me into the territory allotted to me, that we may fight against the Canaanites. And I likewise will go with you into the territory allotted to you.” So Simeon went with him.

This verse might seem obscure and obsolete. Yet there's a powerful lesson from this old testament verse for new covenant believers. It's to do with teamwork.
Judah was the most powerful tribe, taking after their forefather, who after a rocky start, emerged as a leader among his brothers the children of Israel. Jesus was descended from Judah, not Israel's firstborn Reuben. God often chooses the unlikely to fulfil his purposes.
Simeon on the other hand was one of the weakest, most inconsequential of Israel's sons, so much so that his brothers were happy for him to be imprisoned by Joseph so they could go free. Strong Judah and weak Simeon teaming up gives us a lesson in teamwork.
In football/soccer as children, some of the most Judah-ite children are picked as team captains. Then they pick the strongest first to make up their teams, leaving the 'runts of he litter' last. Not so in God's Kingdom. In God's Kingdom the strong are to bear with the weak and to work together to make Christ known.
'Sovereign Lord, please help us to be about Your Kingdom work, making Christ known. May we work together well, whether strong or weak, for the glory of Jesus, amen'
