Behold!

So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory.
Psalm 63:2 ESV

David was in the wilderness of Judah, on the run from his murderous usurper of a son, Absalom. Understandably, he wasn't in a good place. Still, to help himself out, he remembered better days.

David had seen something of the Lord in worship of Him in the tabernacle. The memory of it spurred him on in the lean time he found himself in. We too can draw inspiration from better days when we go through hardship.

When we meet with God's people, in worship of Him, we ought to behold something of His power. He draws people from all backgrounds and walks of life to follow Him. In our diversity, we are united in worship of Him.

God is glorified in how He can take such a diverse bunch of people like us, and unite us in Him. He is worthy to be praised by Jew and Gentile, rich and poor, men, women and children, old and young. He is glorious in the salvation He has achieved for us in the Lord Jesus Christ.

'Our Heavenly Father, how we praise You for sending Jesus to demonstrate Your power and glory. May You sustain us in the hard times by Your Spirit. In Christ's name we pray, amen'
