Angel

 "Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared.
Exodus 23:20 ESV

In the context it seems that God is talking about His eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. After all, 'angel' simply means 'messenger'. Jesus is the ultimate Messenger of God.

Just as Christ led His old covenant people from Egypt to the promised land of Canaan, so He leads His new covenant people from slavery to sin to the promised new creation. As He's leading us, we do well to follow. We mustn't go astray.

The Lord guards us on our earthly pilgrimage. There are perils and pitfalls along the way. Yet He will deliver us from them all.

As Jesus said, 'in my Father's house there are many rooms... I go to prepare a place for you'. Not only so but He also gives us His Holy Spirit to help us along the path to glory. He who began a good work in us will carry it through to completion upon the day of Christ.

'O Lord our Saviour, we want to thank You for leading and guiding us every step of our earthly pilgrimages to glory. May we keep in step with You, for Your honour and praise, amen'

Power

Family

  But he answered them, "My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it." They say familiarity breeds contempt, and that seems to be why they wanted to see Him. They wanted Him to come back down to earth. Jesus's response was shocking for His culture.
