Supplement
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge,

God has promised to make us Christlike. It doesn't happen by osmosis however. We need to partner with Him in this great calling.
We might have faith that God is going to make us like Christ. As James said however, faith without works is dead. We need to supplement our faith with virtue.
If we want to know what Biblical virtues are, a good place to start is in Galatians 5: the fruit of the Spirit. Love, joy and peace etc. are some of the virtues we need to increasingly display in our lives. Profession of faith isn't enough; there needs to be evidence.
Usually, when the Bible talks positively about knowledge, it's not necessarily on about intellectual knowledge. It's usually on about relational knowledge. We need to get to know God to have good understanding.
'O Lord, don't let us content ourselves with professing faith in You. May we evidence our faith by our lives. For the honour of Your name, amen'
