Greed

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

Luke 12:15 (NIV)

If we don't watch out, we're easy prey to give in to the devil's schemes. One of his ways to try and get us off the straight and narrow is to deceive us that 'greed is good'. Biblically, godliness with contentment is great joy.

There's more to life than stuff is basically what Jesus is saying. Stuff can get stolen, broken, or decay. We are eternal beings, in one form or another.

We're more than the clothes we wear or the houses we live in or the food we eat. We're created to be spiritual. Sadly, we've rebelled against such design; thankfully we can be restored to true spirituality.

True spirituality is to love Jesus. It's not hard to do. He's altogether lovely- there's no flaw in Him.

'Dear Lord, please help us to love You as we ought, and not to be greedy. For the honour of Your name, amen'.
