Declare!

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous deeds among all peoples.

1 Chronicles 16:24 (NIV)

God isn't just some tribal deity of the Jews, or even of Christians. He's the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Therefore, we should declare His glory to all and sundry.

Glory is a bit of a religious jargon word that is similar in meaning to fame. If we belong to Jesus, our purpose in life is to make Him famous. Questioners might wonder why we should bother.

We should make the LORD famous throughout the earth because of His marvellous deeds, supremely, Christ's death and resurrection on our behalf. Because He died for us. we can be forgiven of all our wrongdoing. Because He defeated death, we can enjoy eternally transformed lives.

God's not stingy. Therefore His people shouldn't be either. We've received the good news of eternal life through faith in Christ crucified; we should tell others about it.

'Glorious God, may we declare Your glory to all who will listen, because You are worthy for Your marvellous deeds on our behalf. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen'.
