Completion
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
When I was severely depressed, and doubting my own salvation, my brother's friend got him to quote this verse to me. It wasn't a magic fix, but it did encourage me. God's not going to give up on us half way to glory.
We can be confident in God. When He begins a good work, He carries it on to completion. He doesn't get bored and abandon people to our fate without Him.
If our salvation depended on us, we'd be hopeless. All our righteousness is like filthy rags. Christ's righteousness is enough for us.
The day of Christ Jesus is the day of His return. When we see Him, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. He can purify our hearts so that we can see God, holy though He is and sinful though we are by nature.
'Father in heaven, we're so grateful for Your faithfulness. Please persevere with us, for Jesus' sake, amen'
