As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
2 Timothy 4:5 ESVhttps://bible.com/bible/59/2ti.4.5.ESV
God doesn't mind us having a sense of humour. He doesn't want us to treat life as one big joke however. He created us for a purpose: to glorify Him.
Suffering is inevitable. We're bound to go through it, so there's no point trying to avoid it. We're to endure it: like my dad who has stood by his church as an elder through a tough time recently.
It doesn't matter whether we're a pastor like Timothy or whatever: we're all to do the work of an evangelist. The Great Commission is for us all, not for a select few. We've to tell the world the good news about salvation in Christ crucified.
We all might have different ministries, with varied gifts and talents. Yet we're all serving Christ and His body the church. My ministry (apart from my writing) is to be a good husband, father, and educator. What's yours?
'Lord Almighty, we want to glorify You in our lives as You deserve. Please help us to do so, for Your honour we pray, amen'
