Silence

 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

If we truly belong to Jesus, this verse will be our experience if we keep quiet about Him. Jesus demands an exclusive relationship with us as our only Lord and Saviour. There's ultimately no such thing as a secret believer in Christ.

If we are ashamed of Jesus and His words, why would we expect Him to not be ashamed of us when He returns? It's not enough to pray the 'sinner's prayer': we need to devote our lives to Him.

When we trust in Jesus, He gives us His Holy Spirit who empowers us to obey Him. Christ's Spirit helps us to testify of Him to others. Even if we face temporary persecution, eternal glory makes it all worthwhile.

When we truly trust in Jesus, we cannot help but speak of the One who loved us and gave Himself for us. He gave everything to us. It's not too much for Him to ask everything of us.

'Dear Father God, please help us to speak up for you. May we testify of Your goodness to us in the Lord Jesus, in whose name we pray, amen'

Power

Even just earlier in this chapter, Jesus fed 5,000 men, plus women and children miraculously. But when He started making statements like this verse, He understandably became less popular. Basically, Jesus was asking those who would follow Him to go on 'death row'. Following Jesus in 1st Century Roman Palestine wasn't about pressing a button on social media.
