Father

 Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.
Psalm 68:5 ESV

A father and a husband are meant to provide for their wives and children. If the father or husband is absent, that isn't an ideal situation for women and children. Thankfully, God is more than enough for those who are struggling.

There was no social services or welfare state so such in ancient Israel. So in that patriarchal society, if someone didn't have a man to look after them, they were in trouble. Thankfully, God isn't distant and uncaring towards the needy.

Spiritually, we're like orphans in thrall to the devil by nature. We need God to rescue us and to adopt us into His family. Thankfully, He's willing and able to do so.

Spiritually, we're naturally lost and alone like a widow. Yet Jesus wants to be our spiritual Bridegroom, if we would simply trust in Him. Heaven is the spiritual consummation of our relationship with God.

'Heavenly Father, thank You for adopting us into Your family through Christ our spiritual Bridegroom. Please help us be faithful to You our faithful God, for Your glory, amen'

Power

Even just earlier in this chapter, Jesus fed 5,000 men, plus women and children miraculously. But when He started making statements like this verse, He understandably became less popular.
