Reaper

 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand.

The grim reaper is a mythological personification of death. The Golden Reaper is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ, and He's very much real! He's the Son of Man, the One Daniel saw, whom Father God, the Ancient of Days, gave all authority to.

Having defeated death, all authority in all of heaven and creation has been given to Jesus. And He calls us to go in His delegated authority to make Him known, and to warn people of the heavenly reaping, the final judgment to come. John's was an agricultural society so that picture of a harvest of souls will have been immediately recognisable.

There's a sorting coming between those of us who have borne the fruit of the Spirit at work in us, and those of us who have sown to indulge the sinful flesh. We need God to bear spiritual fruit in our lives. Otherwise we're spiritual weeds who are destined for the flames.

There's no escaping King Jesus. He's crowned as King of kings and Lord of lords. All we can do is to cast ourselves upon His mercy, and to plead His blood shed on our behalf.

'Glorious Lord, have mercy upon us we pray, and graciously grant that we would bear fruit for Your glory, in the name of Christ we pray, amen'

Power

Prayer
