Prevail

 And I will make you to this people
    a fortified wall of bronze;
they will fight against you,
    but they shall not prevail over you,
for I am with you
    to save you and deliver you,
declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 15:20 ESV

Jeremiah met much opposition by speaking the word of the Lord to his people. Many of us would too. God promised Jeremiah that he would withstand all opposition.

Jeremiah was imprisoned at one stage, and exiled towards the end of his life. Yet his enemies never took his life. God might not promise that we won't be martyred, but He will be faithful to us for all eternity.

God offers us eternal life through faith in Christ crucified. Nothing in this world can take that away from us once we receive it, not even our own waywardness. A relationship with God as our heavenly Father is worth any persecution we might face.

Ultimately, whatever opposition we face, we will prevail in the Lord Jesus. Just as He defeated death, so shall we be raised again, through faith in Him. The heavens can be our destination, not the grave.

'Almighty Lord, we admit our weakness, but recognise that in You we can be strong. Please help us trust You for eternal life, whatever life throws at us. In Christ's name, amen'

Power

 But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.Exodus 9:16 ESVhttps://bible.com/bible/59/exo.9.16.ESV  Secular historians point to the lack of extra-biblical evidence of Hebrew slavery in Egypt and ensuing exodus. But here in this verse, God describes how this anonymous Pharoah has been immortalised in the annals of the Hebrews, so that God is proclaimed in all the earth. The mighty men of the world might think they can stand against God and win, but resistance is futile!  The more stubborn Pharoah was, the more the Lord was able to display His power.  And he said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23 ESV Early on in His ministry, Jesus was really popular. Even just earlier in this chapter, Jesus fed 5,000 men, plus women and children miraculously. But when He started making statements like this verse, He understandably became less popular.
