False

Sadly, there are plenty of similar false teachers nowadays. These are the kind of people who say things like, 'thus says the Lord God: this time next year, you'll have a private jet'! Of course, I exaggerate, but you get the idea.

These false teachers are the kind of people who start every year by 'declaring' that all will be rainbows and unicorns that year. Of course, they're invariably proved wrong. The troubles of life crowd in and disprove any false prophecies.

One thing I love about the Bible is how realistic it is about the troubles of life. The Bible doesn't whitewash what we go through. Instead, it is honest about the inevitability of difficulties in this life.

False prophets try and whitewash life to seem better than it is. By doing so, they betray themselves as liars and charlatans. Better to face up to hardship, and rejoice that Christ has overcome it all.

'Dear Lord, thank You for overcoming whatever we're facing. Please sustain us in the midst of trials and temptations. For Your honour and praise we pray, amen'

Power

Even just earlier in this chapter, Jesus fed 5,000 men, plus women and children miraculously. But when He started making statements like this verse, He understandably became less popular.
