The Very Hungry Butterfly
The very hungry butterfly
Emerged blinking in the sun
Shattering his dark cocoon
And stretching his beautiful wings.
He was starving.
His latest memories were of being a big fat caterpillar,
Gorging himself on leaves.
'That's not me anymore', he insisted
So the butterfly alighted on a flower
This is the nectar of God, he declared
And drank deeply
Of the life-giving goodness.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
