Steadfast

 Has his steadfast love forever ceased? Are his promises at an end for all time?
Psalm 77:8 ESV

Sometimes it might feel like God's unfailing love has failed. We might even get the impression that God's broken His promises to us. That's certainly how Asaph felt.

Thankfully, in the rest of the Psalm, Asaph reminded himself of God's love and fulfilled promises in time past. This gave him confidence for his present situation and his future hopes. We can do the same.

Has God's love and promises ever failed us? The one who gave His beloved Son for us will assuredly bring us through to glory. Just as Christ passed through tribulation before His vindication, so shall we.

The God who parted the Red Sea and who rose Jesus from death will come through for us. Will we live confidently for Him? Will we proclaim His goodness to those around us?

'Glorious God, how we praise You for Your never failing love and Your fulfilled promises. May we boldly live for You and Your glory, in Jesus' name, amen'

Power

Helper

  Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. Psalm 54:4 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/psa.54.4.ESV Being a helper is a humble role. Humanly speaking, we want to be the main act, not the side show. Yet, even though God is the director of life, He isn't afraid to step on stage to help us out. We might assume that the helper is subordinate to the helped. After all, if someone is deemed worthy of help, they must be important, right? Jesus came not to be served but to serve however. To be helped doesn't require us to do anything. To help is greater than to be helped. Better to actively contribute to someone rather than to simply passively benefit from someone's assistance.
