Remember
Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage! Remember Mount Zion, where you have dwelt.
Psalm 74:2 ESV

Asaph felt forgotten of God. He felt abandoned. We might easily be tempted to despair, but we should be driven to prayer.
God purchased His people with the blood of Christ. We are His heritage. A nation prides itself on its heritage. God takes pleasure in spiritual beggars like us.
When we trust in God, we become part of His heavenly people. On earth we might face troubles, but our places in glory are assured by Christ's sacrifice. We can have confidence in Him in the midst of our trials.
God dwells amongst His people by His Spirit. We might face persecution and mockery, but God is with us. We mustn't despair, because God is for us.
'O Lord, we pray that You would remember us in the midst of the mess of life in which we find ourselves. Please help us to look forward to our eternal inheritence, in Jesus' name, amen'
