Blessing
For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God.
Hebrews 6:7 ESV

Of course, the writer to the Hebrews isn't simply making an observation about farming. He's using an illustration to make a spiritual point. We would do well to listen in on what he's saying.
Rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous. Rain falls on cultivated land as well as uncultivated land. It has different results however.
The righteous thank God for the rain. The unrighteous curse God for the rain. Cultivated land produces a crop; uncultivated land produces weeds.
We might hear the same word of God, but provide on of two diverse responses. One could be to allow it to do its work in our hearts, and produce spiritual fruit. The other might be to choke the word of God with sinful weeds that make us unfruitful
'Lord our God, please help us to be fruitful for You. Forbid that we should be unfruitful. May we produce fruit in keeping with repentance, for Your glory, amen'
