Son

 “I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him.

When Jesus, the humble carpenter turned teacher, referred to Himself as the Son of Man, He had this prophecy in mind. His message was to declare the arrival of the Kingdom of God, which the Ancient of Days, Father God, presented to the Son of Man, the Lord Jesus Christ. He might not have looked an impressive King with His crown of thorns, enthroned upon a Roman cross, but that is who He is.

Jesus isn't simply the King of the Jews, crucified by the Romans for treason. He's the King of all who trust in Him. His Kingdom is not of this world, but it will supplant every earthly polity.

Son of Man might sound like a humble title for Jesus to give Himself. Daniel's prophecy however gives it a divine majesty. He isn't just the virgin born Son of Adam. He is the God-man who came to earth to reconcile mankind with God Almighty.

Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Every knee will bow to Him, either willingly and joyfully, or under sufferance. We either have an eternity worshipping Him, or an eternity suffering His wrath.

'Ancient of Days, may we see the imperative to worship the Son of Man. May we joyfully and willingly do so, and so avoid His wrath. In His name we pray, amen'

Power

Opposition

  Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 2 Timothy 3:8 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/2ti.3.8.ESV Jannes and Jambres are the names of the Egyptian magicians who tried to persuade Pharoah not to let God's people go. It wasn't hard for them to encourage him. They might have been able to replicate some of Moses' miracles, but miracles alone are not necessarily signs of divine approval. The devil has power to work deceptive miraculous signs that point people away from God instead of towards Him. Sadly, some charlatan, counterfeit 'Christians' claim to perform miracles (that tend to be fake). Truth is that faith in God is the real miracle for sinners like us.
