Judge
Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases?
1 Corinthians 6:2 ESV

This is an amazing verse. Auntie Betty from church might end up judging Gary the loan shark. Uncle Albert the deacon could judge Jessica the fraudster.
If us saints are going to judge the world, God forbid that we should go to law against one another. Of course, if someone's professing Christian partner is unfaithful, then that couple will need to separate. An abusive partner certainly doesn't have to be stuck with.
Jesus leaves no room for divorce, except for abusive unfaithfulness (although He would recommend separation over a secular law case). Sometimes if someone clearly isn't living as a Christian, then even if they claim to be, they need to be kicked our of the church. Then they can be taken to court for their crimes.
If however the issue is simply that two Christians have a disagreement, Paul emphasises who wrong it would be to take each other to court. He says it would be better to be defrauded than to go to court. If there is an issue, Paul would say, take it to the church rather than to lawyers.
'God, please help us when we inevitably fall out, to resolve our differences within the church rather than going to court. For Your honour we pray, amen'
