Burden
"When one of this people, or a prophet or a priest asks you, 'What is the burden of the Lord?' you shall say to them, 'You are the burden, and I will cast you off, declares the Lord.'
Jeremiah 23:33 ESV

People might not often talk about having a 'burden' from the Lord nowadays. Maybe they would phrase it something like 'the Lord has laid on my heart'. The sense is similar though.
Jeremiah, speaking for God, showed how angry God gets at people who claim to be divine authorities who speak off the top of their heads rather than from the word of God. The word of God is the sword of the Spirit. Every word of the Lord is flawless. It is sufficient for us.
Sadly, for many people, God's word isn't enough. They want more. But anything extra to Holy Scriptures is an unnecessary spiritual burden. Jesus's burden is easy and His yoke is light.
God finds people who trust in themselves rather than Him burdensome. It might seem rude of Him to describe them like that, but at least He's honest. May we be satisfied with the Bible and not hanker after words to tickle our fancies and satisfy our itchy ears!
'Sovereign Lord, thank You that Your word is sufficient for us. May we believe it and live it. To Your honour and praise, amen'
